CASH GIFT OF BARANGAY OFFICALS

1.0

Purpose

This circular is being issued to clarify the grant of Cash Gift to Barangay Officials pursuant to Republic Act (RA) 8441, dated December 22, 1991.

2.0

Coverage

All barangay officials such as the punong barangay , sangguniang barangay members, barangay secretaries and barangay treasurers created pursuant to Local Government Code.

3.0

Legal Basis

Section 5 of RA 8441 provides that Barangay Chairmen who have rendered at least four months of service from January 1 to October 31 of each year and who are still in the service as of October 31 of the same year shall be entitled to cash gift as Christmas Bonus of P5 ,000 . Those who have rendered less than our months of service during the same period but are still in the service as of October 31 of the same year shall be entitled to the cash gift on pro-rated basis.

Rules and Regulations

4.1 Barangay officials who have rendered at least a total or an aggregate of four (4) months of service and are still in the service as of October 31 of each year shall be entitled to cash gift of P5 ,000.00 each.

4.2 those who have rendered less than four (4) months of service from January 1 to October 31 of the same year, shall also be entitled to cash gift but pro-rated as follows:

Repealing Clause

All Circulars, rules and regulations inconsistent with the provisions of this Circular are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

6.0

Effectively

This Circular shall take effect immediately.
