[ PROCLAMATION NO. 57, November 07, 1962 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 25 TO DECEMBER 1, 1962, AS HISTORY WEEK

WHEREAS, a national conference of history teachers with the central theme “The Teaching of History and Moral Regeneration” under the sponsorship of the Philippine Historical Association will be held in Manila from November 25 to December 1, 1962; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary that such an important event be brought to the attention of the people to arouse historical consciousness and inculcate in their mind the value of knowledge of the past as a guide in the task of nation-building;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 25 to December 1, 1962, as History Week.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed

Done in the City of Manila, this 7th day of November, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-two.
