ADDENDUM TO MARINA M.C. NO. 143 ON COVERAGE

Notice is hereby given to all concerned that in the implementation of the ISM Code pursuant to MARINA M.C. No. 143, “Other Cargo Ships” of 500 Gross Tons and above which are required to be classed, (i.e., Container Ship, General Cargo Ship, other similar cargo ships) shall likewise be covered and be required to comply with the ISM Code.

Accordingly, M.C. No. 143 shall have the following additional provision which will form an integral part thereof;

• All Philippine-registered domestic ships covered under “Other Cargo Ships” are required to develop and implement a Safety Management System (SMS) consistent with the ISM Code, and the concerned companies/ships shall submit their SMS manual and secure DOC/SMC in accordance with the following schedule:
