PROVISIONS IN THE ATTENDANCE TO COOPERATIVE MEETINGS
1. In accordance with the provision of Republic Act No. 6938, otherwise known as the Cooperative Code of the Philippines, Article 38, Item 3, which state that "any government employee may, in the discharge of his duties as member in the cooperative be allowed by the Head of Office concerned to use official time for attendance at the general assembly, board and committee meetings of cooperatives as well as cooperative seminars, conferences, workshops, technical meetings and training courses locally or abroad; Provided, that the operations of the offices concerned are not adversely affected, it is hereby directed that teachers and employees of DECS may be allowed to attend meetings and conferences of teachers/employees cooperative on official time subject to the following conditions/requirements":
1.1 Local meetings/conferences
The cooperative which he/she will represent must be registered and accredited by CDA
Board Resolution authorizing him/her to attend
Permission by his/her immediate supervisor
Expenses to be incurred must be shouldered by the cooperative
1.2 Foreign meetings/conferences
The cooperative which he/she will represent must be registered and accredited by CDA
Board Resolution authorizing him/her to attend
Permission by his/her immediate supervisor
Expenses to be incurred must be shouldered by the cooperative.
2. Immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.
