[ LTO MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. VPT-2013-1799, October 14, 2013 ]

DISCONTINUANCE OF BACK-END SCANNING OF DRIVER’S LICENSE TRANSACTIONS

The back-end scanning of license transactions which are effected by the Licensing Centers and District/Extension Offices with licensing functions is a process required of our Driver’s Licensing System (DLS) for the purpose of online post evaluation by the License Section-Operations Division, Central Office. Inasmuch as the License Section-Operations Division is now undertaking onsite monitoring of license transactions at all Licensing Centers and District/Extension Offices nationwide, the scanning process is no longer necessary. The absence of available scanner machines and lack of manpower personnel are contributory factors for the non-implementation of back-end scanning.

In view of the foregoing, it is directed that the back-end scanning of driver’s license transactions be discontinued.

For strict compliance.

(SGD) VIRGINIA P. TORRES Assistant Secretary
