[ MTRCB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 94-032, November 02, 1994 ]
THE NEW PARENTAL GUIDANCE 13 CLASSIFICATION
Please be informed that at the MTRCB Board Meeting of October 28, 1994, it was decided that the new Parental Guidance 13 (PG 13) classification which replaced the Parental Guidance 15 (PG 15) classification and which was implemented last October 17, 1994 may be given retroactive effect to cover movies previously classified PG 15. However, all producers and distributors who wish to take advantage of the PG 13 classification must apply to the Board for a new Permit to Exhibit, surrendering the old PG 15 Permit.
Theater Owners/Operators are required under the pain of penalty to enforce the classification stated in the Permit to Exhibit, whether PG 15 or PG 13.
In short, the old PG 15 classification is not automatically changed to PG 13. Producers and distributors must seek it in a new permit. Theater owners/operators must enforce the classification stated in the permit.
Please be guided accordingly.
Adopted: 2 Nov. 1994
(SGD.) ATTY. HENRIETTA S. MENDEZ Chairman
