CREATING THE RESETTLEMENT AGENCY UNDER THE PRESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT ON HOUSING

In order to carry out effectively and coodinate all government programs and activities for the resettlement in various parts of the country of persons who may be lawfully evicted or removed en masse from their locations, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby create the Resettlement Agency as a unit under the Presidential Assistant on Housing. The Agency is hereby authorized to call upon any department, office, entity, or instrumentality of the Government for such assistance as may be needed in the performance of its functions. For the purpose of ensuring the effective implementation of the objectives of this order, the Presidential Assistant on Housing is authorized to organize a personnel staff to handle the administrative functions of the Agency.

Done in the City of Manila, this 5th day of February, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-four.
