DECLARING THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 2004, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF MANILA

WHEREAS , every year the City of Manila celebrates June 24 as "Araw ng Maynila" in commemoration of the founding of the City as the premier Christian City of Asia;

WHEREAS , Thursday, June 24, 2004, marks the 433rd Foundation Day anniversary of the City of Manila;

WHEREAS , the residents of Manila, conscious of the historical and cultural significance of the event, desire to celebrate the same with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALBERTO G. ROMULO , Executive Secretary, by order of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO , do hereby declare Thursday, June 24, 2004, as special (non-working) day in the City of Manila.
