POSTPONEMENT OF IMPLEMENTATION OF PHILHEALTH CIRCULAR NO. 15 S. 2006, AS AMENDED BY PHILHEALTH CIRCULAR NO. 18, s. 2006
PhilHealth Circular No. 15 s.2006, as amended by PhilHealth Circular 18 s.2006, provides for the reimbursement of certain drugs that are included in the latest edition of the Philippine National Drug Formulary (PNDF) namely: cefepime, gatifloxacin, meropenem, piperacillin + tazobactam and vancomycin, when used only in PhilHealth accredited tertiary hospitals with Department of Health Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Program (DOH-ARSP) accreditation. Due to operational issues confronting ARSP, the implementation of said circular, instead of commencing on January 1, 2007 as stated in Circular No. 18 s.2006, is hereby postponed indefinitely.
PhilHealth thru Quality Assurance, Research and Policy Development Group (QARPDG) and the DOH-ARSP shall continue to work together to ensure rational use of the said drugs and medicines.
