AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF THE CITY ORDINANCE NO. 8274 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAYOR TO CAUSE THE ACQUISITION EITHER BY NEGOTIATION, EXPROPRIATION OR BY ANY OTHER LEGAL MEANS, OF THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND WITH AN AREA OF EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY-THREE SQUARE METERS AND TWENTY SQUARE DECIMETERS (893.20 SQ.M) MORE OR LESS, LOCATED IN SAN ANDRES, MALATE, BARANGAY 738, ZONE 80, DISTRICT V, MANILA, REGISTERED UNDER THE NAME OF CARLOS TUASON, COVERED BY TRANSFER CERTIFICATE OF TITLE NO. 31697, IN THE REGISTRY OF DEEDS FOR THE CITY OF MANILA" BY APPROPRIATING THE AMOUNT OF TWO MILLION PESOS (PHP 2,000,000.00) OR SO MUCH AS MAY BE NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION THEREOF

Be it ordained by the City Council of Manila, in session assembled, THAT:

SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 8274, entitled: "An Ordinance authorizing the City Mayor to cause the acquisition either by negotiation, expropriation or by any other legal means, of that certain parcel of land with an area of Eight Hundred Ninety-Three Square Meters and Twenty Square Decimeters (893.20 Sq.M.), more or less, located in San Andres, Malate, Barangay 738, Zone 80, District V, Manila, registered under the name of Carlos Tuason, covered by Transfer Certificate of Title No. 31697, in the Registry of Deeds for the City of Manila", is hereby further amended to read as follows:

"SEC. 2. The amount of Two Million Pesos (PhP 2,000,000.00) is hereby appropriated out of the unappropriated funds available in the City Treasury to ensure that the provisions of the ordinance are carried out in accordance with its goals and objectives." SEC. 2. Repealing Clause.

This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.

This Ordinance was finally enacted by the City Council of Manila on December 19, 2013.

MORE OR LESS, LOCATED IN SAN ANDRES, MALATE, BARANGAY 738, ZONE 80, DISTRICT V, MANILA REGISTERED UNDER THE NAME OF CARLOS TUASON, COVERED BY TRANSFER CERTIFICATE OF TITLE NO. 31697, IN THE REGISTRY OF DEEDS FOR THE CITY OF MANILA", BY APPROPRIATING THE AMOUNT OF TWO MILLION PESOS (PHP 2,000,000.00) OR SO MUCH AS MAY BE NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION THEREOF was enacted by the City Council during a regular session on December 19, 2013. The same was forwarded to the office of the Honorable City Mayor on January 8, 2014.

Considering that more than ten (10) days had lapsed, without any communication that the ordinance was approved or vetoed by the local chief executive, Ordinance No. 8332 shall be DEEMED APPROVED as if he had signed it, pursuant to Sec. 54 par. (b) of R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991.
