REIMBURSEMENT OF TUBEX

The PhilHealth Health Technology Assessment Committee (PHTAC), in response to a request from PhilHealth Regional Offices, conducted a health technology assessment of TUBEX to determine its compensability. TUBEX, a rapid serologic procedure, which confirms the presence of typhoid fever, was found to be comparable in sensitivity and specificity as well as distributor price with other serologic tests for diagnosing typhoid fever. Thus, with the recommendation of the PHTAC, PhilHealth shall continue to reimburse the use of TUBEX for confirming the presence of typhoid fever.

All other provisions consistent herewith shall remain in full force and effect.
