DECLARING WEDNESDAY, 05 AUGUST 2026, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF CALBAYOG, PROVINCE OF SAMAR

WHEREAS, Jose Avelino, who was born on 05 August 1890 in Calbayog, Western Samar, served as the first Senate President after the Second World War;

WHEREAS, on 05 August 2026, Wednesday, the City of Calbayog will commemorate the birth anniversary of Jose Dira Avelino;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Calbayog be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RALPH G. RECTO, Acting Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Wednesday, 05 August 2026, a special (non-working) day in the City of Calbayog, Province of Samar.

IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
