[ PROCLAMATION NO. 192, January 13, 1964 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, JANUARY 21, 1964, AS SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY

WHEREAS, January 21 of every year has been declared as Civil Liberties Day under Proclamation No. 69, dated December 27, 1962, in order to inspire our people to greater dedication to the cause of democracy and freedom; and

WHEREAS, the objective of that proclamation will be better achieved if the people are given full opportunity to celebrate Civil Liberties Day with appropriate ceremonies for the preservation of the basic freedoms;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Tuesday, January 21, 1964, as a special public holiday throughout the Philippines.

Done in the City of Manila, this 13th day of January, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-four.
