[ PROCLAMATION NO. 430, December 21, 1953 ]

DECLARING SATURDAY, DECEMBER 26, 1953, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY

Whereas, Christmas this year falls on Friday, December 25, 1953; and

Whereas, the twenty-seventh day of December, 1953, is Sunday, and the twenty-sixth day (Saturday) may be declared a special public holiday to enable the people to enjoy an uninterrupted Christmas holiday which this year the nation well deserves without prejudice to the public interest;

Now, therefore, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby proclaim Saturday, December twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, as a special public holiday.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 21st day of December, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the eighth.
