SUBJECT:
SUSPENSION OF THE WEARING OF THE OFFICE UNIFORMS IN THE LOWER COURTS
Upon request of the Philippines Association of Court Employees, the Chief Justice has approved the suspension of the wearing of the office uniforms in the lower courts, subject to the following conditions:
The suspension shall start on 2 December 2002.
The appropriate business attire and footwear shall be worn when performing official functions inside the workplace.
The following shall be considered as prohibited attire :
Gauzy, transparent or net-like T-shirt or blouse;
Sando-style, sleeveless, strapless, haltered, tank-top/tube or spaghetti-strap blouse and non-collared T-shirt, unless worn as an undershirt;
Blouse with over-plunging neckline;
Mini skirt (i.e., 3 inches or more above the knee);
Walking shorts, leggings, tights, jogging pants;
Tight fitting pants, capri pants and pedal pushers; and
For the males, non-collared T-shirt.
Appropriate footwear shall mean closed formal shoes. The following even when worn only inside the office premises are prohibited:
Step-in exposing the toes;
Sandals exposing the toes; and
Rubber sandals, slippers, bakya.
However, the following are allowed:
Mules or slip-ons (step-in with toes cover)
Sling back shoes (shoes covering the toes but open at the back); and
Shoes with small opening in front but closed at the back ("halfmoon").
Strict compliance is hereby enjoined:
