RELEASE OF EXPORT QUOTA ALLOCATIONS

The GTEB will release the Initial Export Quota Allocations of garment manufacturers-exporters whose Re-accreditation certificates expire on 31 December 2003.

Firms which are not fully compliant based on the surveillance audit conducted by the independent monitors in recent months are given time to comply with the necessary corrective actions on or before 9 February 2004.

The Re-accreditation of firms which are not fully compliant by 9 February 2004 will be automatically revoked. Consequently, the Final Export Quota (Final EQ) and any unused quotas of these firms under critical categories will be forfeited.

All garment manufacturers - exporters are therefore enjoined to undertake necessary corrective actions.
