[ PROCLAMATION NO. 89, March 07, 1963 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, MARCH 22, 1963, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BULACAN

WHEREAS, Friday, March 22, 1963, marks the centennial birthday of Mariano Ponce, writer and one of the active members of the revolutionary movement against Spain; and

WHEREAS, the people of Bulacan, his birthplace, should be afforded full opportunity to observe the event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare March 22, 1963, as a special public holiday in the province of Bulacan.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 7th day of March, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-three.
