AMENDING DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 100 SERIES OF 2010 ON "IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE SOCIAL AMELIORATION AND WELFARE PROGRAM IN THE BIOFUEL INDUSTRY, UTILIZING SUGARCANE AS FEEDSTOCK"

To ensure non-diminution of existing benefits already enjoyed by sugar workers as prescribed under the Sugar Amelioration Act or Republic Act No. 6982 in case sugarcane is used as feedstock to biofuel production pursuant to Republic Act No. 9367 or the Biofuels Act, items a and b of Section 2 of Rule II of Department Order No. 100-10 are hereby amended as follows:
“ Section 2. Workers or Employees Covered
All employees and workers employed in any manner and who are involved in the production of bioethanol; and
All field workers, migratory workers or sacadas employed in any manner by the covered planters.
Managerial employees are excluded.”
This revised guidelines shall take effect immediately.
