[ PROCLAMATION NO. 153, August 31, 1963 ]
DECLARING MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 1963, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN NUEVA ECIJA AND CABANATUAN CITY.
WHEREAS, September 2, 1963, marks an important event in our struggle for freedom, particularly to the people of Nueva Ecija who rose in revolt against Spain on that day in 1896 under the leadership of General Mariano Llanera; and
WHEREAS, the people of Nueva Ecija and Cabanatuan City should be afforded ample opportunity to celebrate the event with appropriate ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Monday, September 2, 1963, as a special public holiday in Nueva Ecija and Cabanatuan City.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 31st day of August the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-three.
