[ PROCLAMATION NO. 84, February 22, 1963 ]

DECLARING MONDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 1963, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCES OF COTABATO, LANAO DEL NORTE, LANAO DEL SUR, AND SULU AND IN THE CITIES OF BASILAN, COTABATO, ILIGAN, AND MARAWI

In connection with the feast of EID-UL-FITR, a very important holiday for Muslims, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Monday, February 25, 1963, as a special holiday in the provinces of Cotabato, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Sulu, and in the cities of Basilan, Cotabato, Iligan, and Marawi.

Muslim official and employees of the Government, both national and local, performing their duties and functions outside of the provinces and cities above stated, shall be exempted from duty during this feast day which, for purposes of this proclamation, shall be considered as a special public holiday for said officials and employees in their respective stations.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 22nd day of February, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-three.
