AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION ONE OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-NINE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SEVEN

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

SECTION 1. Section one of Act Numbered Twenty-nine hundred and fifty-seven is hereby amended to read as follows:

"SECTION 1. A board is hereby created which shall be known as the Board on Text-books and shall have charge of the selection and approval of text-books to be used in all colleges and schools of the Government. The use of the text-books selected and approved in accordance with the provisions hereof shall be obligatory for a period of at least five years from and after the date of their adoption, unless the Board on Text-books shall, for some reason, resolve otherwise."

SEC. 2. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent- with the provisions hereof are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
