RECONSTITUTING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE RIZAL DAY NATIONAL COMMITTEE IN CONNECTION WITH THE OBSERVANCE OF THE 101ST ANNIVERSARY OF THE MARTYRDOM OF DR. JOSE P. RIZAL ON 30 DECEMBER 1997

I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby reconstitute the membership of the Rizal Day National Committee in connection with the observance of the 101st death anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal on 30 December 1997, as follows:

The Secretary, Department of Education, Culture and Sports – Chairman

The Chairman of the National Centennial Commission – Co-Chairman

The Supreme Commander of the Knights of Rizal – Co-Chairman

The Secretary, Department of the Interior and Local Government – Member

The Secretary, Department of Public Works and Highways – Member

The Secretary, Department of National Defense – Member

The Secretary, Department of Tourism – Member

The Secretary, Department of Budget and Management – Member

The Press Secretary – Member

The Chief of Presidential Protocol – Member

The Head of the Presidential Management Staff – Member

The Chairman of the National Historical Institute – Member

The Chairman of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts – Member

The Chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority – Member

The Executive Director of the National Parks Development Committee – Member

The City Mayor of Manila – Member

The President of the Kababaihang Rizalista – Member

To fittingly commemorate and properly disseminate nationwide the 101st anniversary of the death of Dr. Jose Rizal, I hereby authorize the Department of Budget and Management to release the amount of ONE MILLION PESOS (P1,000,000.00) from the President’s Contingent Fund to defray expenses for the 1997 commemoration activities for the martyrdom of Dr. Rizal.

This Administrative Order shall take effect immediately.
