SUBMISSION OF R-RATED FILMS

This refers to R-rated films that are submitted to the Board for television broadcast. Effective immediately, all TV stations or blocktimers should inform the MTRCB in writing that the film being submitted is R-rated and that it has already been sanitized. This letter should be submitted together with the application or review. Please be reminded that most R-rated films are difficult to bring down to a PG rating even if sanitized. Thus, the Board discourages submission of such films since they may only end up being disapproved. R-Rated films that are overly sanitized also become incomprehensible to the audience. This concern should not be overlooked.
