AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET NO. 1 APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED FORTY FOUR MILLION FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY TWO THOUSAND PESOS (P144,482,000.00) FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SALARY INCREASE AUTHORIZED UNDER E.O. NO. 290 OF THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT AND SEPARATION PAY OF OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES PURSUANT TO R.A. 7924

WHEREAS, the President, in his Executive Order No. 290 has authorized the grant of the third year implementation of the salary schedule in the government, effective January 01, 1996.

WHEREAS, under R.A. 7924 and its implementing guidelines, officials and employees who have been displaced or separated from service as a result of reorganization, shall be paid separation gratuity in the amount equivalent to one and one fourth (1 1/4) months salary for every year of service.

WHEREAS, the DBM has released the amount for payment of separation benefits and for the implementation of salary increase of MMDA officials and employees authorized under E.O. No. 290 as implemented by NBC Circular No. 448, Series of 1996.

WHEREAS, there are officials and employees who have signified their intention to be separated from government service.

WHEREAS, the Assistant General Manager for Finance and Administration has certified the sum of ONE HUNDRED FORTY FOUR MILLION FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY TWO THOUSAND PESOS (P144,482,000.00) as available coming from Underestimated Revenue, Assistance from the National Government, to support this Supplemental Budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by MMDA Council pursuant to Section 6 of R.A. 7924, that the amount of ONE HUNDRED FORTY MILLION FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY TWO THOUSAND PESOS (P144,482,000.00) certified as available by the Assistant General Manager for Finance and Administration, is hereby appropriated to wit:

a. salary adjustment of MMDA officials and employees for the third year implementation of salary schedule in the government authorized under E.O. No. 290 of the Office of the President

P94,482,000.00

b. Separation pay of officials and employees pursuant to R.A. 7924 P50,000,000.00
