OTHER LABORATORY EXAMINATIONS AND FEES IN ADDITION TO EXISTING MEDICAL EXAMINATION, NEW MEDICAL EXAMINATION REPORT FORMS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
In a letter to the Undersecretary of Health dated July 26, 1994 Honorable Abdulrahman Ali Maghrabi, Charge d' Affairs, a.i. of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia has officially notified the DOH and requested the dissemination of the information about the additional laboratory examinations being required by the Saudi Government for all contract workers bound for Saudi Arabia. He has also attached the new medical examination report form that contains the detail of the new medical requirements. For the guidance of the accredited medical clinics/hospitals concerned and for the information of the public the following directives are hereby issued:
The additional laboratory examinations as enumerated in paragraph #5 hereunder will be performed on all Saudi-bound contract workers after they had been found to pass the existing medical examination requirement and are ready for deployment.
The new format of the medical examination report form as prescribed by the Saudi Embassy shall be used for all Saudi-bound contract workers. A copy may be obtained from the BLR Accreditation and Authentication Section.
Since most of the additional laboratory examinations would require capability of a tertiary category laboratory, the accredited medical clinics which have a primary or secondary category of laboratory shall immediately apply for upgrading of their laboratories to tertiary at the Bureau of Research and Laboratories. A certified true copy of the license for the upgraded category of laboratory shall be submitted to the BLR not later than three (3) months from the date of this circular.
In the interim period but not beyond (3) months from the date of this Circular, the medical clinics with primary or secondary category laboratory shall be allowed to affiliates with a DOH-licensed tertiary category and a certified true copy of the contract of affiliation, current laboratory license shall be submitted officially to the Bureau of Licensing and Regulations.
The following schedule of fees for the required medical examination which have been agreed upon by the DOH, POEA and the DOH-Accredited Medical Clinics recognized by the Saudi Embassy shall be strictly followed:
