EXEMPTING REGION 7 FROM COVERAGE OF MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NOS. 96-015 AND 99-002

Considering the representations made by Dir. Ignacio P. Casumpang, LTFRB Regional Office No. 7, Mandaue City, and after a careful study and deliberation, the Board in order to solve the problem of “kabit operation” in Cebu City and in the Province of Cebu, and considering further the existence of the same thereat, the Board hereby resolved to exempt Region 7 from the implementation of Memorandum Circulars Nos. 96-015 (Allowing fractional sale of franchises) and 99-002 (allowing “Kabit legalization”).

The said Regional office is given a period of six (6) months from the effectivity of this Memorandum Circular, to accept applications for “Kabit Legalization” and partial sale of Certificates of Public Convenience. After the said period, no more extension will be allowed by the Board.

The Regional Director of said Regional Office is hereby directed to disseminated this Memorandum Circular to the operators concerned.

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
