[ HLURB BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 819 S. 2008, July 21, 2008 ]

ACCREDITING GAWAD KALINGA PROJECTS AS COMPLIANCE TO THE 20% SOCIALIZED REQUIREMENT UNDER SECTION 18 OF RA 7279

WHEREAS, Gawad Kalinga is engaged in building inexpensive houses by tapping the bayanihan spirit while giving the poor beneficiaries the opportunity to work together in partnership with the academe and other civic groups;

WHEREAS, said organization has attained over the years a track record of building such houses which were awarded to its beneficiaries;

WHEREAS, accrediting the Gawad Kalinga projects to be eligible as compliance to the requirement of Section 18 of RA 7279 will increase the production of housing units for the underprivileged and the homeless sector;

WHEREFORE, resolved as it is hereby resolved that Gawad Kalinga projects be accredited as compliance to the 20% requirement under Section 18 of RA 7279.
