CLARIFICATION OF CMC 409-96 ENTITLED "NEW EXPORT DECLARATION FORM (ED) AND EXPORT DOCUMENTATION PROCEDURE"

No. 3 of CMC 409-96 relative to the Issuance of the Certificate of Origin (CO), particularly 3.1 thereof to quote:

“After loading, the BOC shall issue the appropriate Co. upon request.”

shall mean that the issuance of the CO shall be where the ED is filed and processed. Thus, in accordance with 1.4 of the same CMO, if the Exporter chose to file the accomplished ED at the OSEDC, the CO shall be issued at the OSEDC. However, if the ED is filed at the Export Division of the BOC, the CO shall also be issued thereat.

This Order shall take effect immediately.
