AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE COLLECTOR OF CUSTOMS FOR THE PHILIPPINE ARCHIPELAGO TO COMMISSION MASTERS AND WATCH OFFICERS OF COAST GUARD VESSELS TO MAKE SEARCHES AND SEIZURES.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that :

SECTION 1. The Collector of Customs for the Philippine Archipelago is hereby authorized to commission, in writing, the masters and watch officers of vessels belonging to the Bureau of Coast Guard and Transportation to make searches and seizures under the provisions of Chapter Twenty-five of Act Numbered Three hundred and fifty-five of the Philippine Commission, in the same manner as duly designated customs officers.

SEC. 2. The Collector of Customs for the Philippine Archipelago shall also prescribe the necessary regulations governing said masters and watch officers in performance of the duties thereby assigned to them.

SEC. 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
