PRE-DEPARTURE ORIENTATION SEMINAR (PDOS) FOR FILIPINO PROFESSIONALS AND SKILLED WORKERS LEAVING FOR CANADA

In view of the need to prepare Filipino professionals and skilled workers leaving for Canada on employment visa for smooth integration into the Canadian society, understand their culture and adjust to the communities with less difficulty, the conduct and management of Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) for this group of workers shall be centralized at the Overseas Worker’s Welfare Administration (OWWA).

The OWWA is instructed to develop a country-specific/province-specific orientation program and curriculum. It is likewise tasked to produce comprehensive print and audio visual information materials for the program.

Attendance to the OWWA-administered PDOS shall form part of the POEA requirements for the issuance of the travel exit document to Canada-bound OFWs.

The OWWA is directed to issue the Implementing Guidelines within fifteen (15) days from the issuance of this Order.

All other issuances inconsistent herewith are hereby deemed repealed. For strict compliance.
