PROPOSED GUIDELINES FOR MOVIE CLASSIFICATION

As agreed upon at a meeting of the Producers, Distributors and Directors with the MTRCB, both the movie industry and the MTRCB are to come up with their own proposed guidelines for movie classification using the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) Voluntary Movie Rating as basis. We, however, want it known that the classification system that the Board is considering consists only of the five (5) categories now existing namely:

General Patronage Parental Guidance 7 Parental Guidance 13 or 15 For Adults Only X - Disapproved

In other words, what we shall be working on would be the descriptions or explanations of what each category means.

We hope to meet in consultation with you in about a months time or even less if possible.
