[ RESOLUTION NO. 2012-10 SERIES OF 2012, June 25, 2012 ]

PROFESSIONAL REGULATORY BOARD FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS

PROVIDING FOR DISTINCT AND SEPARATE COMPONENTS FOR THE SUBJECTS GENERAL EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION IN THE BOARD LICENSURE EXAMINATION FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS (BLEPT) IN THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL

WHEREAS, R.A. NO. 10157, known as the Kindergarten Education Act", shall apply to the institutionalizing of the new kindergarten as "an integral part of the education system of the country";

WHEREAS, the Preschool specialization forms part of the pedagogical content of the Professional Education ;

WHEREAS, the Special Education (SPED) Specialization in the elementary level like preschool, also forms part of the pedagogical content of the Professional Education ;

WHEREAS, the Content Courses Specialization in the BLEPT elementary level cover the same liberal arts subjects of the general education as a component of BLEPT; and

WHEREAS, the preparation of professional teachers for the elementary level is intended to produce generalists;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Professional Regulatory Board for Professional Teachers resolves, as it is hereby resolved, that the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT) in the Elementary Level shall consist of professional education and general education subjects that are distinct and separate from those of the BLEPT in the Secondary Level.

FURTHER, RESOLVED, that this Resolution shall take effect fifteen (15) days from the date of its full and complete publication in this Official Gazette or in a major daily newspaper of national circulation in the Philippines.

Let a copy hereof be furnished to the UP Law Center and other entities for its dissemination to all concerned.
