[ PROCLAMATION NO. 436, August 19, 1957 ]
DECLARING FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 1957, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BULACAN
WHEREAS, Marcelo H. del Pilar, our hero and patriot who used the nom de plume of “Plaridel” in his struggles in Spain to obtain reforms for the Philippines during the Spanish regime, was born in Bulacan, Bulacan, on August 30, 1850; and
WHEREAS, the people of Bulacan desire that they be given full opportunity to celebrate Plaridel’s birthday with fitting ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Friday, August 30, 1957, as a special public holiday in the province of Bulacan.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 19th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-seven, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the twelfth.
