PORNOGRAPHIC MATERIALS

In view of the rising incidents of Filipino seafarers who are apprehended in possession of child pornographic materials in Canadian seaports, the POEA reiterates its advice to all manning agencies to intensify the pre-departure orientation seminar given to seafarers, stressing the seriousness of such offense and the corresponding conviction and detention should the Canadian authorities find that seafarers are in possession of such pornographic materials.
