ASIAN UTILITY VEHICLE (AUV) SERVICES
Consistent with DOTC Order Numbers 97-1097, 98-1127, 2002-39 and considering that the above subject mode are found to have developed a distinct transport service clientele, the following clarifications as to their operation are issued for attention:
1. AUV vehicles may be classified under air-conditioned Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJ) or Filcab service categories;
2. For inter-regional routes a ceiling distance policy of thirty five (35) kilometers shall be adopted or as may be authorized by LTFRB; and
3. Operation competition with mass transit system such as Public Utility Bus (PUB), MRT/LRT and other similarly situated modes shall not be allowed.
All issuances that are found inconsistent herewith are hereby modified and/or revoked accordingly.
This Order shall take effect fifteen (15) days following its publication in a newspaper of general circulation or in the Official Gazette or submission of three (3) copies thereof with the U.P. Law Center.
