PROFESSIONAL REGULATORY BOARD OF ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING

REQUIRING THE SUBMISSION OF MEMBERSHIP CERTIFICATE OF GOOD STANDING FROM THE INSTITUTE OF ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC. (IECEP) FOR RENEWAL OF PROFESSIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD

WHEREAS, Sec. 32, Art. V of R.A. No. 9292, known as the "Electronics Engineering Law of 2004", states, to wit:

"Section 32. Integrated and Accredited Professional Organization. —There shall be one (1) integrated and Accredited Professional Organization of Professional Electronics Engineers, Electronics Engineers and Electronics Technicians in the country, which shall be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-stock, nonprofit corporation and recognized by the Board, the Commission and all government agencies as the one and only integrated and accredited national organization for the said professionals. Every Professional Electronics Engineers, Electronics Engineers and Electronics Technician, upon registration with the Commission as such, shall ipso facto become a member of this Accredited Professional Organization. Those who have been previously registered by the Board but are not members of this Accredited Professional Organization at the time of effectivity of this Act, shall be allowed to register as members of this organization within three (3) years after the effectivity of this Act. Membership in this Accredited Professional Organization shall not be a bar to membership in other associations of the electronics engineering and electronics technician profession."; WHEREAS, pursuant to Board Res. No. 5, Series of 2009, the Board, subject to approval by the Commission, accredited the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IECEP) as the one and only integrated and accredited national professional organization of Professional Electronics Engineers, Electronics Engineers, and Electronics Technicians;

WHEREAS, there is a need to bind all the foregoing registered and licensed professionals who are automatic members of the IECEP to register as members thereof;

NOW THEREFORE, the BOARD RESOLVES, as it is hereby RESOLVED, to require the submission of valid certificate of membership of good standing with the IECEP for renewal of their Professional Identification Card (PIC).

RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the President of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IECEP) shall furnish the PRC Registration Division a copy of the updated official registry of the bonafide IECEP members indicating their membership and annual or lifetime official receipt numbers.

This Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its full and complete publication in the Official Gazette, or any newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.

Let copies hereof be furnished to the UP Law Center, Registration Division, PRC Regional Directors/OICs and the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IECEP) for dissemination to all concerned.
