PURCHASE OF COMPUTERS

To hasten the computerization in the Judiciary, thereby enhancing its effectiveness and efficiency, l,000 units of computers should be purchased within the first quarter of CY 2000. Expenses therefor should be charged against the 20% "equipment and other facilities" outlay of the Judiciary Development Fund.

The 1,000 computers shall include the 716 units earlier requested by the courts of the first and second levels, and 100 units for the Supreme Court as indicated in the list attached to letter dated 6 December 1999 of Atty. Ivan John Uy, Chief of the Management Information Systems Office (MISO), copy of which may be obtained from the Office of the Chief Justice. The rest shall be allotted to other courts of the first and second levels in accordance with the guidelines which the MISO and the Office of the Court Administrator shall submit not later than 31 January 2000 for approval by the Court through the Computerization Committee.

An additional 500 units of computers shall be purchased during the second half of CY 2000, to be distributed in accordance with the guidelines.

This Administrative Circular shall take effect immediately.

The Computerization Committee, the Office of the Court;Administrator, the Management Information Systems Office, the Fiscal Management and Budget Office of the Supreme Court, and the Committee on Bids shall implement this Administrative Circular.

The Office of the Clerk of Court shall furnish the Office of the Chief Justice, the Offices of the Associate Justices, and all concerned with copies of this Administrative Circular.
