[ PROCLAMATION NO. 209, October 13, 1950 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20, 1950, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF LEYTE.

WHEREAS, October 20, 1944, is of special significance to the people of Leyte because on that date the United States Armed Forces landed on the shores of said province to liberate the country from enemy occupation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Friday, October 20, 1950, as a special public holiday in the Province of Leyte.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 13th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the fifth.
