FRAUDULENT CALLS TO LGUS FOR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT PROJECTS

Adopted: 31 July 2015 Date Filed: 18 September 2015

It has come to our attention that various local government officials have received phone calls from individuals claiming to be the undersigned or people representing the DBM. These individuals promise the release of project funds from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) in exchange for a sum of money.

We at the DBM do not engage in such transactions and denounce these fraudulent practices.

We urge the public – particularly our colleagues in local government – to remain vigilant and report all suspicious calls or incidents through our Regional Offices or our Public Information Unit at publicinfo@dbm.gov.ph, or at 02-791-2000 loc. 2602.

(SGD) FLORENCIO C. ABAD Secretary
