[ PROCLAMATION NO. 139, July 22, 1963 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, JULY 23, 1963, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BATANGAS AND LIPA CITY

WHEREAS, Apolinario Mabini, one of our greatest patriots, was born in Tanauan, Batangas, on July 23, 1864; and

WHEREAS, the people of Batangas should be given ample opportunity to celebrate the birthday of the “Sublime Paralytic”;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Tuesday, July 23, 1963, as a special public holiday in the province of Batangas and Lipa City.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 22nd day of July, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-three.
