TO: The Secretary of National Defense

The Secretary of Public Works, Transportation

and Communications

The Secretary of Public Highways

The Commissioner of Land Transportation

Pursuant to the policy of promoting safety on the highways, roads and streets, Letter of Instructions No. 229, as amended by Letter of Instructions No. 479, requiring that every motor vehicle be equipped with at least one (1) pair of early warning device as a requisite for registration, may now be implemented, provided that substantial compliance with the specifications shall be sufficient for the purpose, and that the registration, motor and chassis number and make of the vehicle are indicated in the device.

This Letter of Instructions shall take effect immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 30th day of June in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-eight.
