ISSUANCE OF MACHINE READABLE PASSPORTS IN MALDIVES

The Philippine Honorary Consulate in Colombo, Sri Lanka, which exercises jurisdiction over Maldives has reported that the Consulate is encountering difficulties in the issuance of machine readable passports to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Maldives.

The Consulate hereby advised all OFWs traveling in and out of Maldives to secure their machine readable passports in the Philippines and take extra care once they have secured it to avoid the unnecessary inconvenience in replacing their lost passports.
