[ GSIS RESOLUTION NO. 172, July 25, 2011 ]

APPROVAL OF PAYMENT OF EDU-CHILD PLANS WITH CERTIFICATES OF FULL PAYMENT

WHEREAS, there are plan holders who have Certificates of Full Payment for their Edu-Child Plans but whose accounts, after reconciliation, would appear to still have arrears; despite the fact that GSIS has file copies of Certificates of Full Payment included in the individual policy envelopes of the plan holders;

WHEREAS, as far as can be determined, the data on file copies of Certificates of Full Payment appear not to have yet been recorded in the database;

WHEREAS, GSIS nonetheless can no longer dispute that these Edu-Child plan holders, holding Certificates of Full Payment, are fully paid given their Certificates of Full Payment issued by GSIS;

WHEREAS, reduction of the policies in force for pre-need plans issued by GSIS would on tribute to the long-term solution for the settlement of pre-need plans;

RESOLVED to APPROVE and CONFIRM the payment of Edu-Child Plans of all plan holders with Certificates of Full Payment even if it would appear that some still have arrears.

RESOLVED FINALLY, to AUTHORIZE/APPROPRIATE the amount necessary for the purpose, chargeable against proper funds.
