AN ACT AMENDING THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE SO AS TO TRANSFER TO THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR THE AUTHORITY TO APPROVE CHANGES IN THE NAMES PROVIDED BY MUNICIPAL COUNCILS FOR STREETS, AVENUES, AND OTHER PUBLIC PLACES.

Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:

SECTION 1. Subsection (d) of section twenty-two hundred and forty-three of the Administrative Code, as amended by Act Numbered Three thousand and nineteen, is hereby further amended to read as follows:

"SEC. 2243. Certain legislative powers of discretionary powers of discretion character; character. —The municipal council shall have authority to exercise the following discretionary powers:

"(d) To Provide for the numbering of houses or lots; the naming of streets, avenues, and other public places and, subject to the approval of the Secretary of the Interior, the changing of the names thereof; and for the lighting of streets, and the sprinkling of the same." SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
