REPEALING PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1052
WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 1052 disqualifies persons who have been detained upon a finding of probable cause for subversion and other crimes against national security and public order from exercising their right of suffrage; WHEREAS, the move to return to normalcy requires that political rights, including the right of suffrage, be enjoyed by every citizen who has not been found guilty by final judgment of any of the crimes mentioned in P. D. 1052.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree the repeal of Presidential Decree No. 1052.
This Decree shall take effect immediately.
Done in the City of Manila, this 25th day of January, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-eight.
