[ PROCLAMATION NO. 132, March 24, 2011 ]

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27, 2011, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF LAPU-LAPU

WHEREAS , Wednesday, April 27, 2011, marks the commemoration of “KADAUGAN SA MACTAN”, a cultural and historical event for the City of Lapu-Lapu;

WHEREAS , the Battle of Mactan is among the significant events in Philippine history and serves as testimony to the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Filipinos; and

WHEREAS , it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Lapu-Lapu be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR. , Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III , do hereby declare Wednesday, April 27, 2011, as special (non-working) day in the City of Lapu-Lapu.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF , I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
