AUV’S OPERATING AS TAXIS

In consonance with the DOTC Dept. Order No. 97-1097, and in relation to this Board’s Memorandum Circular No. 97-011, which categorizes the operation of "FILCAB" services, operators of taxis using AUV’s, like Tamaraw FX’s, Hi-Lander, etc., who may opt to continue operating their units as taxis are hereby required to remove the extra rear seats from the vehicle, such that only five (5) passengers including the driver would be accommodated, like the regular 4-door sedan taxi types.

Failure to comply with this Memorandum Circular shall subject the offending operator to the following fines/penalties:

1. First Offense

P3,000.00 and one (1) week suspension of the unit’s CPC

2. Second Offense

P6,000.00 and one (1) month Suspension of the unit’s CPC

3. Third Offense

Revocation of the units CPC

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect fifteen (15) days after the filing of three (3) copies hereof with the U.P. Law Center, in accordance with Presidential Memorandum Circular No. 11, dated October 09, 1992.
