PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1166, June 24, 1977

[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1166, June 24, 1977 ]

AMENDING THE 94TH ARTICLE OF THE ARTICLES OF WAR

WHEREAS in order to effectively enforce discipline and administer justice among all members of the Armed Forces, it is necessary that certain provisions of the Articles of War be amended;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree as part of the law of the land the following:

"Provided , That in time of peace, officers and enlisted men of the Philippine Constabulary shall not be triable courts-martial for any felony, crime, breach of law violation of municipal ordinances committed under this Article."

SEC. 2. Effectivity. -This decree shall take effect upon approval.

Done in the City of Manila, this 24th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-seven.
