[ SRA SUGAR ORDER NO. 6, December 14, 1989 ]

INCREASING THE PERCENTAGE QUEDANNING FOR DOMESTIC SUGAR

WHEREAS, pursuant to Proclamation No. 503 declaring a state of national emergency throughout the Philippines, the President has directed that appropriate emergency measures be adopted by the government agencies to prevent excessive prices of prime commodities;

WHEREAS, in order to attain the objectives of the proclamation, there is a need to release additional quantities of sugar to the domestic sugar to insure its availability at prices below the price ceiling of P14.80 for refined sugar and P10.80 for raw sugar;

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the powers vested in the Sugar Regulatory Administration, it is hereby ordered that:

SECTION 1. Sugar produced from December 11, 1989 shall be quedanned in the following percentages:

"A" or export sugar 10%

"B" or domestic sugar 55%

"C" or reserve sugar 27%

"D" or world market sugar 8%

SECTION 2 . Provisions of Sugar Orders, Circular Letters, rules and regulations inconsistent with this Order are hereby amended, modified or revoked accordingly.
