ADOPTION OF SYLLABUS IN OCULAR PHARMACOLOGY, A SUBJECT FOR SPECIAL EXAMINATION IN OPTOMETRY

WHEREAS, as required by Section 31 of R.A. No. 8050 known as the Revised Optometry Law of the Philippines, the Board of Optometry shall administer and conduct a certification examination in pharmacology to persons admitted to the practice of optometry and who have taken a course in pharmacology prescribed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to enable them to use specific diagnostic pharmaceutical agents.

WHEREAS, Section 6, Article I of Resolution No. 338, Series of 1994 of the Commission requires that each subject for examination shall have a syllabus and that the examination questions shall be within the scope of the topics contained in the syllabus.

WHEREFORE, the Board hereby adopts, promulgates and issues the syllabus of the subject/course pharmacology embodied in the document denominated as SYLLABUS ON OCULAR PHARMACOLOGY appended hereto as Annex “A’ and made an integral part of this Resolution.

This Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of genera circulation, whichever is earlier.
